Does anyone know if the jack has been opened up through updates? I couldn't figure out whether the FCC complications caused it to be disabled with hardware or just software. If it's just software then it should be possible to make it functional.

Also, is the jack for output or input? Either one would be really useful.

Thanks!

A little background...

We had an issue with RF interference when a powered speaker was plugged into the jack. It went just over FCC thresholds, so we ended up disabling the jack in order to be able to meet FCC compliance and ship.

We looked at a few options (it can updated through firmware) but at the time of our initial Kickstarter shipping, it would have been a significant cost to have to re-test the unit.

Thanks for the info Leor.

Are there any plans to make it functional for older (or all) units? If not, is there a somewhat simple way to enable it myself?

Thanks!

There is one roadmap path that may allow us to enable this.

There's no easy DIY way of enabling the port because it would mean rebuilding and then deploying the firmware code. In versions that shipped after Kickstarter / beta, we covered up the jack.
