I have integrated the Ubi (two of them) into my SmartHome system (Fibaro HC2 - Z-Wave) and it works perfectly.
I have speech control all over my house and able to send any voice notification (like weather forecast, time, warnings, reminders and etc)
BUT I would like to be able to receive response from Ubi for events. For example:
Home temperature drops below predefined level, the SmartHome sends http request to Ubi to announce -
"Temperature below 18 degrees Celsius, would you like to turn on the heater?"
Now it will be nice to have an option to enter the Ubi to listen mode (same as after Okay Ubi), to receive response (YES/NO) and to send http back to the system with the answer.

Thanks. Forgot about IFTTT. Such a great app. Also working on Manything with IFTTT for Ubi to solve my video request. Ubi developers were smart to integrate with IFTTT early on. Adds a ton of functionality. Still a bunch on ideas on my list!

Have just watched the Tasker video and it confirmed that what I'd like to see is more layered control not just IFTTT something like "If This AND This OR This Then That"
e.g.
I have my UBI say good night when the light level drops below 50 LUX it generally works however it really needs to trigger after 10.00pm and only if the light was switched on before hand. It gets quite funny in the morning as dawn breaks and the light filters back in and a small voice calls " Is it bedtime already?"

I'd also like some nuance on the voice, e.g. sing "Happy Birthday" or add some emotion the vocal emoticon (although she seems fairly good at irony). I know that I can program for UBI to listen for multiple inputs using Regular expressions, it would be really good if we could somehow reverse it to get varied responses. again using my previous example it would be nice to alternate between "Good Night" : "Is it bedtime already" : "Did you put the cat out?" with some randomisation or rotation to mix it up.

"UBI, Where's my car?"

Integration with Moj.io Moj.io is another great Canadian Company who have come up with some wonderful technology to interface with your vehicle. You could also ask things like: "What is the average gas mileage of my vehicle?"

Keep up the good work.

There is something similar called "Automatic". I have one, it is integrated with IFTTT. However to be honest I haven't used it much.

When sending http request to play music, I believe you know what you want to hear, so..
Please remove the question "Continue music?", it's unnecessary interrupt.

By doing so, we can wake up to nice sounds of music....

The problem with this is if you want it to be quiet, it isn't likely the microphone will be able to pick up the command because of the music playing.

A situation where you might want it to be quiet would be is if the phone rang or someone showed up at your door.

Dominique,
You're absolutely right... but there are two ways to control it (both of them via http)

1. Send http .....message=stop play music
2. Send http.....message=set volume to XX

after that you can send http.... message=continue play music and to set volume back.

Since my Ubi integrated into Smart Home, I have sensors to control it.

Is there any way you could show us video of your setup? Would love to see it.

I would like to see Ubi integrated with LiftMaster Garage door opener. It could tell me when it is open or closed.
Also I would like to open/close it with commands. I would mount a Ubi in my garage and announce "Open says me"

Here is an idea, integrate with OurGroceries.

OurGroceries is the simplest way to keep your grocery lists instantly synchronized on all the smartphones in your household—and it’s free!

Other features include multiple shopping lists, a web interface, and recipes. Learn more.

Available for iPhone®, iPad®, iPod touch®, and Android™.

Users of shopping list app ZipList can transfer their lists and recipes to OurGroceries automatically. OurGroceries makes a great ZipList replacement!

https://www.ourgroceries.com/overview

With this, you can tell Ubi...

"add cheese and milk to my shopping list" and Ubi does it.

Then when you are at the store you can launch the OurGroceries app you can see your list.

Integrate delayed actions

Ok ubi, in 5 minutes, shut off all my lights on the main floor

In 20 minutes shut off my tv via harmony so my kids know it's time to go to bed.

In 2 days, turn manything cameras on as I will be away

Rather then time delayed reminders, create time delayed actions!

Ubi needs an "action" repository. Ubi is cloud based. Right now all of your lessons are held and acted on in the cloud. The action repository is basically cloud storage attached to each portal account. You would store sound bites, text files and portal skins initially. The sound bites could be used for various options. For example:

1) A sound byte named "tone" could replace the familiar beep tone response to say Ubi is listening
2) A text file called "alert" would replace the "Ok Ubi" with a phrase of your choosing
3) A JPG would be a skinned background for your interface to the portal
4) An MP3 could be used to play as a "sound byte announcement" as an action after an utterance as a part of a rule
5) A new trigger called "Capture" could record a sound byte and store it to an MP3 which could subsequently be used in #4
6) A file called "profile" could contain personal information about users for Ubi to know. For example: Michelle is my daughter, she is born on, her favorite color is... This would cover multiple people. Then Ubi could scan the file to "use" certain information in responses.

The cloud based "action" repository would be extremely functional because it could be leveraged by multle Ubis and the mobile application as well.
